ROSLYN TURNER-CLARK ED.D, LMFT

Dr. Turner-Clark is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Educational and Behavioral Consultant, Motivational Speaker, and Clinical trainer. A graduate of California Baptist University and the University of Laverne, Dr. Turner-Clark has traveled nationally and internationally presenting workshops and seminars on mental health, counseling for clergy, leadership practices, violence prevention, crisis interventions for children hit by disaster, empowerment and healing of women, and her signature workshops “Turning dreams into Reality”. This series of seminars has been presented across the U.S. as locally as South Central Los Angeles, and New Orleans ninth ward, to as distant as the countries of Belize, Ghana, and South Africa. For the past 26 years, Dr. Turner-Clark has worked as a licensed psychotherapist in juvenile residential facilities, long term foster care, as well as in-patient and private practice settings. Dr. Turner-Clark integrates music into the therapeutic process to build self-esteem, inspire hope, and restore joy to the hearts of hurting people around the world. Dr. Turner-Clark is the training manager at SHIELDS For Families and professionally affiliated with: California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, Association of Black Psychologists, Southern California Association of Chaplains, and Family Preservation Community Services Inc.

Daniel Oakley, Psy.D.

Dr. Daniel Oakley is a licensed psychologist in New York (018262) and California (PSY23659).  Dr. Oakley earned his Doctorate in School Psychology from St. John’s University in New York, where he cultivated specializations in assessment and cognitive-behavioral therapy.  His primary focus is working with children and adolescents experiencing problems related to learning and social-emotional development.  He has worked directly with children and adolescents in a variety of settings, where has been responsible for conducting psychoeducational assessments and delivering cognitive and behaviorally-based interventions.  He has also taught assessment and cognitive-behavioral intervention courses to graduate level psychology students, and currently serves as a clinical training coordinator providing assessment training and supervision to doctorate psychology students in practicum and internship at SHIELDS For Families.

Donny Jackson, Ph.D

Dr. Donny Jackson earned his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Hahnemann University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  Dr. Jackson served as the first Director of Psychological Services Center at the Institute for Graduate Clinical Psychology at Widener University, where he also taught Advanced Psychotherapy as a Clinical Professor.  In addition, he developed and ran the partial hospitalization program at St. Gabriel’s Hall in Audubon, Pennsylvania, a residential facility for juvenile offenders.  Dr. Jackson provided services as a Child Development Specialist for SHIELDS for Families, where he now offers staff training in a variety of subject areas, including Applied Child Development, Grief and Loss in Children and Adolescents, the Impact of Family Substance Abuse on Children and Adolescents, Motivational Interviewing, and Bullying and the Bullied.  In addition, Dr. Jackson has worked as a spoken word artist as well as a television Co-Executive Producer and Director.  At College Bridge Academy, a charter high school collaboration between the Los Angeles Education Corps and SHIELDS for Families, Dr. Jackson teaches Creative Writing, Life Skills, and, Creative Writing.

Andrew Kami, LMFT

Andrew Kami, Ph.D. has extensive experience working in community mental health, hospitals, private practice, and education settings.  He completed his doctoral work in Clinical Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute in Santa Barbara, CA.  He has a background in Marriage and Family Therapy and Depth Psychology, and is certified in five different evidence based practices.  He has conducted psychological assessments for the Los Angeles County Dept. of Mental Health and the Department of Children’s and Family Services, and gained additional assessment experience through SHIELDS for Families’ CAPIC approved internship program.  He has experience teaching graduate level courses in Psychopharmacology and Trauma, and serves as the Clinical Director for the John Henry Foundation in Santa Ana where part of his duties include providing clinical supervision for graduate students.  He is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, who upon Honorable Discharge provided pro bono individual and group therapy in a private practice setting.
