L.A.’s SHIELDS for Families teams with The Moyer Foundation to launch unique camp for children affected by a family member’s addiction

 

SHIELDS for Families is partnering with The Moyer Foundation to launch Camp Mariposa® Los Angeles. A first-of-its kind program, Camp Mariposa is a free weekend overnight camp for children between the ages of 9 and 12 who are affected by a family member’s substance abuse.

Donations help us purchase the supplies each camper needs to participate in camp such as sleeping bags and flashlights, and covers the cost of activities like nature hikes, climbing walls, therapeutic arts & crafts and more!

Get Involved!
We need:
– a Registered Nurse (RN) at each camp weekend
– a photographer to take photos of 1-2 days of camp per year
– transportation to/from camp by bus (40 youth, 10-20 adults)
